The Heart Beet™, is founded and written by me, Mary Kent Hearon. I have a double name, Mary Kent, but many of my friends call me MK! Even though I do looooove Beets, it seemed obvious to celebrate the essence of what I love with a name like The Heart Beet™. I’m a nutritionist, a writer, an artist, but, most importantly, a lover of all things beeeeeautiful! I love eating healthy. I love ‘trying’ to live a naturally, holistic life! And, I love following my heart! None of these three are ever followed perfectly, nor are they supposed to be. It’s confusing and overwhelming to ‘always’ eat healthy and even more confusing at times to do what you love. So, with all that white noise, I sat quietly and came up with a solution!
The Heart Beet™ offers a little road map to honoring the inner aspects of you! It is a guide that is meant to uplift and inspire people just like you and me! I’m a regular girl, who has definitely been confused about lots of things! But, by listening to my heart and learning to follow what I love, I have emerged with a lot of wisdom that I enjoy sharing with clients and readers all over the world!
The Heart Beet™'s purpose is simple. It's a web-a-zine, filled with much food for the soul: uplifting interviews, education, healthy products, healing techniques, and lots and lots of love! With a degree in holistic health, an artistic talent for telling it like it is, and a bit of divine glamour to wear it well, it is my intention to transmit the world of organic, holistic, and spiritual living in an approachable and easy to incorporate way. It's what I love and an honor for me to share.
So, remember, in everything that you do, think, and say, let it come straight from the heart! Always listen to your Heart Beet! You simply won't be the same. I know I'm not and I'm thanking God for that every minute!

This week, The Heart Beet reports with a sneak peek on some pretty cool holiday jewels. Mary Kent reveals some of her favorites that just might be added to your Christmas Wish List.
Happy holidays! Already? Time seriously flies when you're having fun. I was super lucky to be in Paris two weeks before Thanksgiving and am still recovering from a whirlwind trip of shopping, eating, and, of course, my favorite, pilgrimage-ing. But, that's a whole different Beet, one that I'll share next time. For now, this week's Beet is on some of my favorite jewels that I've made for the holidays. This season, I'm doing lots of gold. What's new? (hee hee) Of course, I'll do silver, but I really am a golden girl. Just like the looks of it better. Though, I admit, silver is starting to grow on me again. Anything you see in my jewels can be done in silver. I've got lots of pretty crosses on beaded, roped, or vintage chains. And, keys galore! I'm super into old keys at the moment. These were a hit at a party I went to in France and even sold a few on the spot to some very chic french ladies. The symbolism of the key runs deep. I'm feeling these keys are a great gift to give to anyone you love. Heart Key! Oh yeah! The Golden Celtic Knot has also been really popular and I've done a really neat one in Christmas colors. I gave one to my french mother while in Paris and she looked very uber-chic! I was pretty speechless. And, I'm making lots of fun earrings. I spent the afternoon making some really great cross earrings today for a fab lady to wear to a wedding. Yay!
